Airmagnet Spectrum Analysis with Wireless Access Points

Spectrum analyzer & wireless site survey Toronto

A great handy tool that all of our technicians and engineers use are either or both the airmagnet spectrum analyzer or one of our RF spectrum analyzer that really help with detecting RF or WLAN interference.

A lot of our customers ask whats the difference between performing a WLAN survey in Toronto and/or performing a spectrum analysis in an office/building or warehouse? First off a WLAN survey or active or passive survey detects for signal to noise ratios and RSSI levels.

When we perform wireless site surveys in Toronto checking for RSSI and SNR is only 20% of our project engineering plan. If you only check for RSSI and SNR than your not including your main aspect of having your customers with quality clean noise free air which is an interference free environment. With a spectrum analysis or when using a spectrum analyzer you ensure that your RSSI and SNR levels maintain its levels when performing your survey. If there is too much interference from other devices than your RSSI levels will jump from -100 to -60 and SNR levels might be fine at 20 – 35 but might jump down to 0. So for todays post when searching for a company to perform a wireless site survey is to make sure you have an RF spectrum analysis report. It may cost a little more than a typical RF site survey but it will save you many headaches down the road for all of your network and system administrators.
